My interviews stretched out for a while, and the hardest part wasn’t the technical work so much as how the process felt at the end. I started with recruiter screening and then progressed through multiple interview rounds that included technical discussion and later leadership/manager-style conversations. At one stage, I was told I’d be brought into the Amsterdam office for a leadership interview, and that final round left me feeling like the evaluation wasn’t consistent with what I’d shown earlier.
Across the later stages, communication became the real problem. After I reached the final round, updates stopped. I tried following up, but I either got no reply or only delayed responses that still didn’t lead to closure. In one situation, a recruiter seemed responsive earlier, then suddenly dropped off after the last interview; in another, I was explicitly told I was a cultural and technical fit but that my communication style wasn’t direct enough, and the result still meant they didn’t continue.

I applied through Adyen’s process for a Software Engineer role in Bangalore, and the timeline felt like it moved forward with the usual recruiter coordination. After the recruiter engagement, I went through the multi-round evaluation that included a technical loop and then later the onsite-style interviews. Overall it felt fairly structured, and the discussions centered on technical fit and how I worked through problems, not just buzzwords.
What stands out most is that I ended up getting an offer for the role, with the compensation described clearly in the offer details. The position came with a fixed pay component and RSUs, and the total first-year CTC was stated up front. The final result matched what I had seen earlier in the process: I was seen as both technically aligned and a solid fit for how the team expected me to communicate and collaborate.

Leadership & Behavioral Interviews
Later stages of the interview process involve leadership and behavioral interviews that assess how candidates handle professional situations and align with team dynamics. Candidates should be prepared to discuss past experiences and demonstrate their communication style and collaboration skills.
Throughout the process, candidates have noted inconsistencies in communication and feedback, particularly after interviews. It's advisable to follow up proactively and seek clarity on next steps, as some candidates experienced delays or a lack of closure after their final interviews.
