My experience with Adyen felt easygoing and pleasant. The recruiter was very friendly, and the process was open and straightforward about what to expect at each step. Every stage felt explained clearly enough that I wasn’t guessing what came next.
I didn’t accept an offer in the end, but the overall experience was positive and I left it with the idea that I might consider applying again later. The main feeling throughout was low stress—everything moved in a way that didn’t create anxiety or confusion.

I didn’t have the kind of clean start I expected. There was no initial HR call, and the recruiter never responded to my emails or questions—just automated invitations to the next meetings. The first live conversation was with two frontend engineers, and they were friendly and talked through my background. The second step was the tough one: a long, 1.5-hour coding assignment that was confusing enough that I spent extra time dealing with something that wouldn’t even compile.
I also ran into a task that required a non-frontend solution instead of JavaScript, which I had to figure out under time pressure. I raised those issues during the next round, but the feedback didn’t really address why the assignment itself included those kinds of confusing requirements. The third round was a live coding interview based on the assignment, and after it I got harsh feedback, including something nit-picky about my indentation.
