After a recruiter call, I ended up doing a behavioral interview first. Then I took an aptitude-style test that felt like an IQ test—very much about raw logic and pattern thinking rather than domain specifics. A short while later I moved into a technical round where the focus was my thought process: I was given a hypothetical project and asked to talk through how I’d approach it from start to finish. To close out, I went back into another behavioral conversation.
Overall it felt difficult, and the “show your thinking” part was what really set the tone. I came out of the technical question feeling like they weren’t just checking whether I knew the answer, but whether I could reason clearly under uncertainty. I didn’t receive an offer, and the whole structure left me with the impression they were sorting heavily for cognitive fit and the ability to communicate reasoning cleanly end to end.

Average Positive Washington, DC
My process started with an EDA-based assessment. After I submitted that, there was an interview specifically to discuss what I found—basically walking through how I interpreted the dataset and what decisions I made along the way. Once that went well, I was invited to a panel interview with multiple teams from Acumen. The panel wasn’t just about specific technical correctness; it was meant to gauge my general fit and proficiency across different perspectives.
The overall pace and structure felt pretty straightforward—EDA first, then a discussion, then a multi-team panel. I didn’t end up getting an offer, but the journey had a clear rhythm that made it easier to understand what they were evaluating at each step.

Interview Structure & Flow
The overall structure of the interview process is generally straightforward, moving from initial assessments to discussions and then to panel interviews. Candidates report a clear rhythm in the process, although some noted repetitive questioning across different interviewers.
Candidates noted that communication from HR was generally strong, but many experienced delays in receiving feedback after the final interview. This lack of timely communication can lead to frustration, even when candidates feel they performed well.
The difficulty of the interview process varies, with some candidates finding it manageable while others felt it was intense and demanding. Regardless, candidates should prepare for a focus on clarity in reasoning and the ability to explain their analytical processes.
