After an earlier step, I ended up in a more specialized technical interview that focused on PySpark. It ran for about 45 minutes, and the interviewer really wanted me to walk through concepts end to end rather than just do surface-level definitions.
I was asked about the core ideas behind PySpark, with a lot of emphasis on optimization and how Spark behaves under the hood. The questions circled around resources allocation and what changes when you optimize different parts of a workload. There was also a scenario-style prompt about when I would use particular techniques, which pushed me to explain my reasoning, not just name the concept.
