After a quick HR call to talk through the hiring process and possible salary range, I moved into interviews that felt more conversational than intense. I had an hour-long discussion with a hiring manager and developers, and the focus was largely on background and fit, rather than a heavy technical grilling. It still felt like they wanted to understand how I approached work and what I had built.
Later, my process for another attempt also came down to just two interview rounds: one HR/business style conversation, then another shorter interview. That one took about two weeks end to end and I felt like I did well enough to “nail it,” at least during the call.

Average Positive Bengaluru
My interview loop leaned heavily into backend fundamentals with a strong emphasis on one language. I sat through a mostly Java/Python-style technical conversation where the questions were centered on core concepts and deeper understanding. For Python, I was asked about OOP and details like decorators, and I got prompted on copying behavior, including how copy versus deepcopy differs.
There were also project-related questions layered in, along with database and framework concepts like Spring Boot and backend ideas. The session itself was short—around 20 minutes—and it felt like the interviewer was trying to see whether I truly understood the fundamentals enough to connect them to real backend work.
