I wasn’t able to land on the approach the interviewer expected. I remember feeling like I was missing the key idea, and I couldn’t confidently propose the binary-search-style direction that would connect the weights to the selection. After that first round, I didn’t move forward.

The way coding was dismissed as “easy,” combined with repeated pushes toward personal philosophies, came across to me as arrogance rather than leadership.
