Waltham, MAPosted Aug 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

For an Account Executive interview, I went through a concise sequence—recruiter first, then manager calls—ending with a mock discovery/demo where structure mattered, and the overall experience felt manageable within about a week to three weeks.

Recruiter screen — A phone call about my background and interest in the role.
Hiring manager + manager/director alignment call — One or more Zoom conversations focused on fit and what I’d do in the position.
Mock discovery / final role-play — A mock discovery call with senior sales leaders, and in one path this included a mock pitch angle. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the takeaway was that the final role play was the key gate for proving I could run the right sales motion.
