I went through a selective Account Executive process that included an assessment and a role play, and it was challenging mainly because the expectations conflicted with their instructions.

Pre-interview assessment — I completed an assessment before any recruiter outreach.
Recruiter screen — A helpful call to set up next steps.
Interviews: hiring manager + director — Two separate 30-minute Zoom conversations; the director seemed less engaged.
Final: role play — A role play with both leaders with limited guidance, plus a recommendation to use the DEAL structure; I was told afterward they would’ve preferred I begin with a product overview before discovery. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, and the takeaway was that role-play feedback hinged on sequencing
