For an Account Executive role, I initially had a scheduling breakdown and no follow-through from the recruiter, which required a referral path to get the process moving.

Scheduled recruiter screen (reschedule + silence) — The recruiter rescheduled shortly before the call and then stopped responding.
Repeated follow-ups — I emailed multiple times and tried outreach through a personal network connection without success.
Referral-led restart — After a referral, a different recruiter scheduled a screening and asked me to send availability. Outcome: I didn’t move forward in the original track, and the takeaway was that responsiveness and continuity were critical to getting evaluated.
