Zeta Software Engineer interview experience

The biggest thing about my experience was how the interview content didn’t feel connected to the day-to-day role.

I got the sense that the evaluation leaned on very obscure algorithmic questions with little relevance to the kinds of application work the company would do, unless it was for some special project.

The frustration built enough that I reached out to HR to ask directly about the relevance of those questions to the engineering manager role. The interview itself left me with the impression that the focus was misaligned, and that question to HR became the most memorable part of the process for me.
