Zalando Software Engineer interview experience

BerlinCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

My path through Zalando felt structured and multi-stage, starting with a hiring manager conversation.

After that, I went through a coding interview, then moved into system design, and then completed a general technical skills interview. The sequence ended with an HR interview.

The difficulty level and specific outcomes weren’t clear from my end, but the order of the rounds made it feel like they were steadily expanding from role fit and technical fundamentals into broader architecture thinking, before wrapping up with the administrative side. I spoke with multiple interviewers across the technical and HR touchpoints, and the overall arc stayed consistent from beginning to end.
