I spoke with a Yelp recruiter as my first step, and the call was only about 30 minutes long.

They gave me more detail on what the position actually involved, which was helpful, but it also made me feel uneasy.

After hearing about the role’s structure, the main thing that hit me was that the base salary sounded very low. The concern wasn’t about whether I could do the work—it was more about whether the compensation aligned with what the job seemed to require.

No offer came out of it, and the overall feel was that the recruiter call provided clarity while also setting off red flags early.
