Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

During an interview for a senior role, the discussion turned to bitwise operations.

Even though I had substantial experience overall, I couldn’t answer the question they asked in that moment.

It was one of those conversations where the technical gap was immediate, and I could tell I wasn’t landing the way they needed. A week later, I received a rejection.

The outcome was disappointing, but the reflection I took from it was that even strong background doesn’t fully protect you from being caught off guard by a specific low-level topic.
