The assessment part of the process felt like the biggest letdown for me.

The problem statement was complex, and I didn’t understand why it took so much time to get through relative to what the role called for. It didn’t feel like a good match for evaluating software engineering ability; it felt more like an unnecessarily dense prompt.

Overall it was the worst experience I’d had up to that point in the process, because the time burden and the unclear purpose made it hard to stay focused on solving. I wasn’t able to move forward from that stage.
