My first step was an online test with roughly 30 to 40 problems that leaned on basic algebra, probability, and brain-teaser style questions.

After that, I moved into a phone call stage where the focus shifted toward my background and how I’d been working with relevant technical skills.

During the phone interview, I spoke about my past work and how long I’d been coding, and they also asked about my math background and education. Then the conversation turned to a technical problem where I had to solve something live, not just talk through concepts.

It wasn’t the hardest technical gauntlet I’d seen, but the time pressure and the jump from test mode to interactive problem-solving made it challenging. I didn’t end up with an offer,
