WorldQuant Software Engineer interview experience

After a call and a meetup, they moved forward by asking me to take the first real round. The very first interview was a HackerRank coding session, and I remember the interviewer as a very experienced senior who was helpful and not overly critical. I did solve the problem, but when I looked back later, I realized I’d gotten there in a clumsy way rather than with the cleanest approach.

Even with the problem solved, the outcome was still rejection right after that first round. It left me feeling like correctness alone wasn’t enough for what they wanted—how I arrived mattered just as much.
