I got pulled into a drawn-out process that took months, and the timeline itself became the main stressor.

It started with informal conversations with the hiring manager, but it didn’t stay contained—eventually it grew into a large number of meetings, totaling eleven interviews, spread out over several months.

Another experience in the same general pattern also made the long duration feel like a theme: I went through many interviews and it stretched close to half a year. Even though the people I met were genuinely pleasant, the lack of speed in responses made everything feel like I had to stay patient and wait for momentum that didn’t come on my schedule.

In my situation, I never got an offer.
