The first part of the process was framed as a pre-interview, and it really followed that format.

I had a one-on-one conversation with the hiring manager where the focus was on my qualifications, skills, and work history, along with relevant experience that matched the role.

A big part of that call was also cultural fit—what kind of environment I’d thrive in and whether my style matched what the team valued. It felt like a typical fit check rather than anything technical or overly complex.

I didn’t move to an offer, but I appreciated how directly the first conversation established what they were looking for and how they would evaluate me.
