I ended up getting pulled into the process after the Spain country manager reached out to me on LinkedIn a few months before my first face-to-face interview.

Our earliest conversations were over the phone, and somehow the first call was in Russian even though the role was going to be in English and Spanish. From there, the process dragged out across roughly eight interview sessions, with about five of them involving different people from different departments.

The sequence started with the Spain country manager, then moved to the VP of Sales, and finally to the founder. I spoke with the country manager multiple times, and it felt like he was interested but not especially urgent—there were delays in responses and a lot of general awkwardness.
