I went through a pretty standard but very hands-on flow that started with a recruiter screen and then moved quickly into the technical part.

After the initial call, a bit later I had a pair programming round where I implemented a production-style chunk of functionality tied to resiliency—specifically, building a circuit breaker using WebClient. It felt like the questions were grounded in real problems rather than trivia.

The next step was system design. I remember being asked to design something like a scalable rate limiter, focusing on how to structure the solution and handle load. What stood out was that this didn’t feel like memorizing patterns; it felt more like applying engineering judgment to a practical scenario.
