I started with an HR-style conversation, where the questions were about my longer-term thinking and how I’d handle responsibility.

I remember being asked how I saw myself over the next five years, how I would manage a team, and how I’d assign work.

Then the interview shifted into a more technical mode where I was asked to write a code. The contrast between the people-and-process questions and the coding portion made the round feel balanced.

It was easier than I expected overall, and I got an offer. Reflecting on it now, the biggest surprise was how much of the HR discussion focused on practical management ideas rather than just generic motivation.
