I applied online while casually looking, and surprisingly I got a callback the same day.

Within the same week, I went through the recruiter screening and things seemed to go really well on both sides. I had relevant experience from big tech and I was local to where the team was building a new office.

Even with that, the process stalled after the hiring manager stage. I never ended up speaking with the IT manager, and I didn’t make it past that point. It was hard not to wonder whether the outcome would’ve been different if I’d had a chance to talk with the team itself, since the process stopped before I could go deeper.
