My interview was short and specific.

It was a virtual conversation with a hiring manager, and while he seemed low energy, he was still paying attention to what I was learning—he asked about the classes I was taking. I didn’t get an offer for that role, but he did tell me to apply to another software engineer position. I ended up getting an offer for the other position, which made the whole experience feel like it was redirected rather than flat-out rejected.
