After finals, I found out I had an interview scheduled with pretty short notice—just a few days before.

It was set for 8am on Wednesday, and I drove out to the mill, checked in at the main gate, and even watched a short safety video before anything else.

The interview happened in an HR conference room, where I was greeted by a mix of leaders from the site: an Operations Manager, a Reliability Engineer, and the Maintenance Superintendent. The whole thing ran about 30 to 45 minutes. Most of the questions weren’t technical; instead, they focused on whether I could function without constant supervision—how I handle issues, how independent I would be, and how reliably I’d operate.
