Western Digital Embedded Engineer interview experience

After that setup, the interview shifted into a set of professional questions—some centered on code and others more general. The difficulty felt on the tougher side overall, and the questions demanded that I connect what I’d done before to how I’d think through specific problems.

I left with the impression that the interviewer was looking for more than surface-level familiarity, because the coding prompts weren’t just checking syntax—they pushed for reasoning. I didn’t get an offer, and honestly it felt like the interaction required a level of clarity and depth I didn’t fully land.
