I had an SWE technical interview that blended resume-driven discussion with hands-on systems and programming fundamentals, and I ended up not progressing.

Technical round (45–50 min) — started with intros and my internship/projects; the interviewer asked about my NoSQL project and why I chose a language, then shifted into C fundamentals like malloc/calloc/realloc and code snippets.
Programming concepts — I compared structs vs unions and then discussed OOP implementation ideas like encapsulation and abstraction in Java or C++. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; my takeaway was that explaining your project clearly and then backing it up with low-level fundamentals is crucial.
