I went through a pre-req coding challenge and then two interviews that separated programming/software-tooling from softer communication skills.

Hackerrank pre-req — a coding challenge as an initial gate.
Technical interview — focused on programming and software development tools, with a short coding challenge included.
Soft-skills interview — a more communication/fit-oriented discussion. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the takeaway was that passing required both solid fundamentals and the ability to communicate clearly about your development work.
