I had a really short first step with a recruiter, then a follow-up phone interview where the vibe was basically conversational.

The interviewer didn’t push for coding at all; it was more about me talking through my prior projects and relevant classes. It felt like chatting with a software engineer rather than being tested, and I left the call thinking it was straightforward.

A few days later, I expected to move forward, but I didn’t. In the end, I had to email the recruiter to check status and was rejected. Honestly, I was surprised by how low-pressure the interview felt compared to how quickly it ended.
