I realized HR had set up the conversation for a lower-level position without my consent, and when I questioned it I was given a vague explanation that didn’t feel aligned with my skills and experience.

The process itself felt handled carelessly, more like a scheduling mistake than a thoughtful adjustment. It took almost no time to recognize the mismatch, and it threw off my confidence rather than giving me a fair shot. I declined the process after that realization, and looking back, the most frustrating part was how little attention was paid to respecting my time and my original application.
