My interview felt easy overall, and that made it a bit harder to predict how I’d do.

They asked me a simple sliding-window type question and also a join query. The tone stayed calm, and they also seemed impressed with how I communicated.

What threw me off was that they didn’t want someone who was specialized in AI. Even though I explained I had experience in basic web development and could cover the expected area, they still rejected me.

I didn’t get an offer, and the hardest part to accept was that my technical answers weren’t the only deciding factor. My final reflection was that alignment to how they defined the role mattered as much as performance—sometimes more.
