Vanguard Software Engineer interview experience

I was told there would be a break between them, but I didn’t get any—so by the time I moved into the behavioral portion, the timing got awkward.

The technical interview and behavioral interview were close enough that I had to transition fast, and the way it played out made it feel like the handoff wasn’t managed well. My interviewer kept me waiting until the next session, and because of that, I ended up late for the behavioral interview.

I remember how stressful that felt in the moment, not because the questions were inherently brutal, but because it looked bad and I couldn’t control it.
