Upwork Software Engineer interview experience

The hiring manager came across as professional and genuinely nice, and they set expectations well so there weren’t surprises about what they were looking for.

What I noticed most was the strictness around the pay level. Even with a clean process and good communication, the financial expectations felt tight, and that ultimately shaped how I felt about the opportunity.

I didn’t take the position, and honestly the strict compensation stance was the deciding factor more than anything that happened in the interviews themselves.
