Washington, DCPosted Dec 2020 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My first step was an initial phone call where we covered typical screening topics—who I was, what I was interested in, and similar groundwork.

Most of the discussion leaned into how I’d solved problems in the past and how I handled personal difficulties during prior jobs or school.

It felt like a conversation more than a rigid interrogation. The interviewer wanted to understand my decision-making and resilience, not just my résumé surface details.

This didn’t turn into an offer, but the call gave me a clear sense of what they valued. I walked away feeling that my story mattered, even though the outcome wasn’t positive.
