Before the actual phone screen, I had to finish an assessment, and it took longer than it felt like it should have.

It didn’t seem directly tied to the role, but it was required before I could even speak with the recruiter.

Once I got on the call, the recruiter was friendly and took a lot of notes. The phone screen lasted about 20 to 30 minutes and stayed in the lane of common behavioral questions—nothing overly complex or technical.

It overall felt like a decent experience with a good vibe from the recruiter, but I didn’t move forward after that. What stayed with me most was the odd mismatch between the time spent on the pre-interview assessment and how basic the actual conversation was.
