I went through a process that was laid out as three technical rounds plus a separate hour for salary negotiation.

The first two rounds were centered on core Java, especially around OOP, serialization, multithreading, Java 8 topics, and even the internal workings of a HashMap. Alongside that, I had programming problems described as medium-level.

There was also SQL covered in the process—joins and basic queries came up as part of what they tested. For the third round, it was a more on-site style combination of managerial and technical questions, including designing an application. Even though it was a lead software engineer role, the whole thing felt smooth and quick, and the HR part was professional.
