I applied directly and was scheduled for an onsite interview.

During the day, I met with two senior scientists and got a lab tour from another group member, which gave the process a clear mix of conversation plus context.

The initial interview felt relatively relaxed. I was asked about my qualifications and why I was suitable for the role. After that, I came back for another round focused first on the group leader, who went deeper into technical details and wanted to assess my aptitude, and then I met with HR for a Q&A style discussion.
