I had a live interview with someone who was genuinely nice, even when my answers weren’t exactly what they were looking for.

The questions were mostly scenario-based and tied to the role, so I had to think through how I’d handle practical situations.

There were also a few quick trivia questions about the company itself—things like the CEO and current news—which made it clear they expected some research on what was going on. The conversation felt constructive rather than confrontational.

Even with a good experience during the interview, I never heard back afterward. I didn’t get an offer, and the main thing I carried away was that a positive, friendly interaction didn’t necessarily translate into a decision
