I started with a Codesignal that had four questions, and then it moved into a live coding interview.

The live portion was where things got really hard for me: the interviewer wanted an optimal solution to a difficult problem, but the way they asked it was confusing enough that I struggled to even lock onto what they were requesting.

I tried to push through, but the lack of clarity made it hard to respond confidently, especially while aiming for optimality. The whole sequence ended with me not passing.

What stuck with me afterward was how much the outcome depended on interpreting the problem correctly—not just solving it once I knew what it was.
