Uber Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

In my Uber interview loop, the coding questions skewed across a few common algorithm themes: bitwise operations, graph algorithms, and some harder graph-related thinking.

One problem was about bitwise OR—given an array and an integer k, finding the k-th largest subarray OR. The way I approached it leaned on the idea that OR values across subarrays form a monotonic, non-decreasing sequence as you extend the start index, which capped how many distinct OR changes could happen.

I also ran into a Next Greater Element IV-style problem, and then an MST challenge where the graph edges had only weights of 0 or 1. I ended up using the graph properties to decide between Prim or Kruskal, which matched the structure of the question.

Overall, the set felt technical but
