Uber Software Engineer interview experience

Posted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I completed an online assessment for Uber SDE 2 that was split into two sections, and time was the deciding factor for me.

The first problem was an intermediate stack-based task, and I managed to get all 15 test cases to pass.

The second section was a graph problem, and that’s where things fell apart for me. I only got a few of the cases to pass—around 3 out of 15—and I ran out of time before I could finish the solution cleanly. I remember thinking that if I’d had even a bit more runway—just a few extra minutes—I likely could have pushed it further.

Overall, it left me with a mix of confidence and regret: I did well on one half, but the graph section being cut short made the whole assessment feel unfairly
