Uber Software Engineer interview experience

I tried to solve it using dynamic programming, but I couldn’t get the optimization right, and that was the point where I felt the solution wasn’t going to pass.

I remember attempting DP as the core idea, but the follow-through—making it efficient enough—didn’t land cleanly. Other approaches with different data-structure thinking came up in my attempt, but the end result was still a rejection.

It was a tough early filter because the problem wasn’t just asking for any working solution; it made performance and optimization feel essential from the beginning.
