San Francisco, CAPosted Jun 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My coding interview at Uber used HackerRank and had a specific split.

I had to complete a coding segment for about 40 minutes, and there was also a shadow interviewer in the room observing.

After the coding portion, I spent around 20 minutes answering additional questions about my projects. The whole thing felt like a combined technical-and-explanation evaluation rather than only solving problems on the spot.

In the end, it didn’t lead to an offer, but the format was clear and structured enough that I always knew what part of the evaluation I was in.
