Uber Software Engineer interview experience

I had about 5 minutes for a self-introduction, then around 45 minutes for coding. There was also a distinct final window—roughly the last 10 minutes—where I could ask questions.

During that Q&A time, I focused on Uber’s culture and what the work actually looked like day to day. That portion made the interview feel more like a real conversation than a one-way evaluation.

I didn’t get selected. Still, the format was clear and time-boxed, and I left feeling like I had a decent picture of what mattered to them, even if the result wasn’t what I wanted.
