Uber Software Engineer interview experience

SE-2Posted Oct 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a pretty classic SWE II flow that started with a CodeSignal pre-screen after being referred.

The CodeSignal test had two coding questions, and I solved both completely, passing all the test cases.

After that, I had a technical screening that felt very DSA-focused. The interviewer dug into how I would solve the technical screening problem and also asked questions like whether I’d already started from sample code or whether I’d be expected to write everything from scratch for the later parts. I also remember being asked about using binary search as a potential approach, which pushed me to think about alternatives rather than just my initial plan.

I didn’t walk away with an offer.
