Uber Software Engineer interview experience

The recruiter had mentioned a final call after debrief—framed as a “hire” style step—but after everything wrapped, I was told the role was closed and there weren’t any other openings available at the moment.

Because I made it through the loop, the rejection didn’t feel like a typical “didn’t pass the interviews” situation. It was more of a logistical stop tied to the position itself being shut.

It left me with a weird mix of closure and uncertainty: I had done all the work to get to the end, but the end decision was driven by timing and availability rather than only technical performance.
