Uber Software Engineer interview experience

SeniorPosted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Uber SDE 2 after applying through a LinkedIn referral, and the timeline moved quickly once the recruiter reached out.

The recruiter contacted me around Feb 16 and scheduled my first round for Feb 27.

My first round was a coding interview with a Senior SDE. It opened with a short intro, about five minutes, and then I worked on a problem involving a sorted array. The task was to reorder the original array, and the way the question was framed made it feel like there was a specific transformation expected rather than just a general sorting routine.

Across the round, it stayed pretty focused on that array transformation theme, and I didn’t have to juggle multiple problem types. I didn’t end up with an offer
