San Francisco, CAPosted Oct 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Twitch Software Engineer and experienced a chill, straightforward sequence that still ended in rejection—despite feeling the work itself wasn’t very taxing.

OA / online assessment — first step before any live interviews.
Recruiter call — a short recruiter conversation.
Technical interviews — technical portion after the recruiter step (in one account it felt “super simple and chill”).
Hiring timeline + final decision — one version of the journey took about four weeks before rejection. Outcome: I was rejected after the technical stage(s), and the takeaway was that even “simple” loops can be highly competitive and not just about solving problems.
