Twitch Software Engineer interview experience

No offer

Negative

CanadaPosted Mar 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Software Engineer at Twitch and had a rough technical phone screen where the expectations felt unrealistic for the time and environment.

HR screening + phone screen — The HR portion was followed by a phone interview that felt like it required fully functional IDE-style coding without the normal support.
Technical coding expectations — The interviewer offered almost no help beyond repeated suggestions to try more test cases, even as I tried many; it also seemed they expected perfect code with unit tests quickly. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that the interview format and guidance didn’t match how candidates debug under constraints.
