My process was long enough to feel like a real test rather than a normal interview flow.

It began with a recruiter screening where I was asked detailed questions, and then I moved on to conversations with two senior project managers. They framed the role around infrastructure—examples like rail, highways, and energy—and the tone felt evaluative from the start.

The next step brought in two directors from Rail. By then it didn’t really feel like a traditional back-and-forth interview; it felt more like they were probing as if I needed to demonstrate capability under pressure. After that, I was told via an automated email that they’d moved on to another candidate.
