During my interview, there were two engineers involved, one Asian American and one Taiwanese, and the focus felt different from purely technical screening.

They talked a lot about how many professional skills I had and whether I could follow their culture.

It wasn’t phrased like a strict checklist, but the cultural fit element was clearly important to them. The interview felt more about alignment—how well I seemed to operate within their environment—than about digging into specific engineering details. It ended without an offer, and I walked away understanding that the bar included cultural and communication expectations.
